If desired the BSP version of an AGI can be updated or downgraded.
Version compatabilities
AGI SW pack v. 4.0.x or older (Creator, PC Runtime, Client) is only compatible with AGI 400's running BSP version 1.0.x.
This means if using AGI Creator (version 4.0.x), trying to download a project into an AGI running on BSP version 1.3.x, following message will appear:
Same goes the other way. The AGI SW pack v. 4.5.x or newer (Creator, PC Runtime, Client) is only compatible with AGI 400's running BSP version 1.3.x.
Therefore if using AGI Creator (version 4.5.x), trying to download a project into an AGI running BSP version 1.0.x following message will appear:
In either case of the above, if opening an old project (v4.0.x) with the new Creator (v 4.5.x) or opening a new project (v4.5.x) with the older AGI Creator (v4.0.x), the project can be converted so that is is compatible with the BSP version of the AGI being used. That being said, we cannot guarantee the conversion if downgrading a newer project (v4.5.x). It is always better upgrading a project than going backwards as e.g. newer features might not be supported in the older version. In this case the BSP (1.0.x) on the AGI could be upgraded fitting the newer project.
BSP installation
Comming to the BSP, it doesn't matter if objective is to upgrade or downgrade the version. Doing one or the other the steps below are the same and it doesn't matter which version of the AGI Creator (4.0.x or 4.5.x) is used, they both work.
1. Download the needed BSP version from www.deif.com. The BSP versions are divided between the smaller screens
(7",10"), and the larger ones (15" and 21"). Choose the one that fits your AGI screen size.
2. Extract the downloaded BSP zip file.
3. Open the unzipped folder, right click (1) and copy the path (2).
4. Open AGI Creator click 'Run' (1) and enter *Manage Target' (2).
5. In manage target, click 'Board' (1) and then 'Folder' (2).
6. Paste the path of the folder (1) and 'select folder' (2).
7. Now click the IP drop-down arrow (1) and choose the IP-address (2) detected which matches the IP of the AGI.
8. Enter the AGI password and click OK.
9. Now both BSP version in the AGI and the one about to be installed is visible. Click 'Download'. Installation is
initiated.
Installation takes around 5-7 minutes and screen is rebooted several times. Eventually it ends at the startup page
(shown below).
Now the AGI project can be downloaded using AGI Creator which at the same time will install the corresponding
runtime.
